Civilian Death.
Informational piece designed to illustrate the vast number of worldwide civilian deaths caused by war during the 20th century. An A3 page was cut, scored and folded to create a 3-dimensional memorial for those who lost their lives. The void formed by each miniature grave marker was then coloured to divide the data into categories from least deaths per country to most. When lit from beneath the colour cast of each blends together creating a whole that plainly states the horror of war.

Unsettle.
For this brief I was asked to create the concept for a fashion label. Unsettle is the result, a travel clothing brand with a utilitarian yet stylish identity. The logo embodies this mindset; with a period slightly offset from the main form to punctuate the traveller's ever present instinct to move onward. Earth's continents were spliced together to create a step-and-repeat pattern that along with the logo was applied to a gusseted carry bag.

Procheck.
This brief challenged me to brand and produce the packaging for a new home prostate cancer test kit by Pfizer. It's clean, bright and stands out among the hundreds of other products displayed on a typical chemist shelf or counter. All the type on this pack follows Australian labelling specifications for medicine sold over the counter at chemists and pharmacies.

Wright Bros.
37 metres in 12 seconds, 3 metres above the ground. December 17, 1903. The first unassisted flight made by man. This poster highlights the Wright brothers crowning achievement with one seemingly insignificant fact. On closer inspection you will see that the majority of the letterforms that make up the message are created using collaged diagrams of some of the many beautiful vehicles that, in a world without the Wright brothers, may never have come to be.

Kite Festival.
I was asked to create an event flyer for a local winter festival using type and and a single colour. The flyer is printed on translucent paper (reminisent of the nylon sheets used in most modern kites) and consists of 3 folds. These folds are designed to lead the viewer through the piece in a smooth sweeping motion much like that of a banking competition kite.

Chasing Snow.
An exercise in page design. I was required to create a contents page and two spreads for a feature article. This work is all about balance; the perfect size and position of each element on the page was considered to make the content flow effortlessly.

Psychonauts.
A case study into the use of recreational psychoactive drugs. Participants were placed together in a room at the peak of their drug-induced state with a variety of coloured paints. The result was then documented with a black and white video loop and a mugshot style colour still of each subject. These artefacts aim to condense the perceived infiniteness of a psychoactive experience into a few short seconds.

Dreams.
A black and white series of photographs sequenced to synthesise the fragmented narrative of a dream. The images are held together only by similarity of form it's the viewer's concious that fills in the gaps. This work focuses more on the story told between each photograph. The series acting as a catalyst for free thought and can potentially present greater meaning than the sum of it's parts depending on the viewer's imagination.

Night Swimming.
During Sydney's hot, humid summers there are only few things that provide total and utter relief. One of these things is accessible to a select few. These few don't seek the refuge of these urban oasis's at the hight of the day when the sun is at it's most dangerous. They wait. Once the sun's gone down and the rest of the population lies in a sweat in front of tortured oscillating fans, these few gather and cool themselves in the moonlit waters of a backyard pool. This series depicts their complete fulfilment.
